KK Lai

Project Manager

Dr. KK Lai has worked for over 7 years in the Innovation and Technology sector. He has more than 10 years of experience in research and development on computer vision, artificial intelligent and video streaming technologies. He is also an experienced software engineer especially in app development. Dr. KK Lai has extensive R&D and management experience and is endeavored to bring the startup ecosystem from the industry to the academic research projects. Dr. KK Lai joined the HKUST MTrec team in Mar 2015. He oversees the Wherami and Streamphony projects and manages the team.

Simon Wong

Assistant Project Manager

Mr. Simon K.-F. Wong has worked for over 10 years in the IT fields in IBM China/ HongKong and HSBC Limited. He has designed and supported various banking systems, including trading, IVR, CMS and e-statement systems. He left the financial industry and joined the HKUST MTrec team in Feb 2014.
